Bacon Apple Porkchops

Pork chops are one of my favorite meats. Add to that apples,bacon,peppers, onions and white wine sauce and you have one amazing meal!

Ingredients: (feeds 6…including 3 large men!)
12 Pork Chops
1 lb of bacon
3 granny smith apples
bottle of white wine
Stick of butter, I actually use 2 for an entire bottle of wine but its up to you
2 red onions chopped
12 small red,orange,yellow peppers chopped
3 Garlic cloves
Rice

Start out by seasoning your chops with Salt, Pepper, Basil and garlic on both sides. Then sear your pork chops in a pan just to get some color on them. Then put them in a 425 degree oven and set your timer for 30 minutes (Depending on the thickness you may need another 15-20)

Cut your onions and peppers and put them in a hot pan. Add a chopped up garlic clove . It will take about 15 minutes until the peppers and onions have cooked through. Let simmer for another 10 minutes stirring frequently…set aside

Cut your apples into small cubes and cut up your bacon. I dont like my bacon crispy so basically cook until your bacon is done to your liking. Bacon tends to cook quickly so keep your skillet on medium heat.

The white wine sauce takes a little longer. Each bottle of wine has between 3-4 cups of wine. Pour all wine into a skillet and add your butter. Add your garlic cloves, you can either leave them whole and just crush them or chop them up. You will need to reduce your sauce until all the wine has cooked down. It normally takes between 15-20 minutes. If you aren’t sure if its done just taste your sauce and if the bitter wine taste has gone and all you taste is an amazing sauce then you are done 😉

Once everything has been cooked you want to put your pork chop over a bed of rice. Then cover with your apples,bacon and then your peppers and onions. Pour the white wine sauce on top and enjoy an amazing meal!

porkchopsAll in all it should take about an hour to complete. The pork chops will take the longest to cook. You need to make sure you keep an eye on all of your other ingredients while cooking as they can burn easily,

People will be amazed when they eat this. Everyone that comes over for dinner thinks that I spent hours cooking it. Some are a little weary about eating the apples and bacon but once they do they are hooked. 😉
